Ernesto Mondelo

My vision of a more just and sustainable world begins with the search for better results in social and environmental projects.

Ernesto Mondelo is an expert in project management and international development, with more than 25 years of experience in designing, monitoring, evaluating and training teams in more than 1000 projects in Latin America, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and Africa. His experience encompasses both traditional and agile project management methodologies, allowing him to lead diverse initiatives with precision and adaptability.

Ernesto holds an International MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain, and a Masters in Education from Framingham State University in Massachusetts, USA. He is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®), Scrum Master and Agility Master Coach (SPI-AC), credentials that reflect his deep commitment to excellence in the industry.

As founder and former director of the Project Management for Results (PM4R) program at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ernesto played a key role in strengthening project management capacities in Latin America and the Caribbean. Under his leadership, the PM4R program became a key driver of impactful, results-oriented development projects in the region.

Ernesto currently serves as Executive Director of the Social Projects Institute, where he leads the implementation of agile methodologies in the execution of social and environmental projects, supporting teams in several continents.

In addition to his professional roles, Ernesto contributes to academia as an Adjunct Professor at American University's School of International Service, where he shares his expertise in project management with a focus on agility, mentoring the next generation of leaders in the industry.

With a track record dedicated to improving project management practices and driving international development, Ernesto Mondelo continues to drive meaningful change and promote sustainable growth in regions around the world.

Lisbeth Albarrán is an expert in project management, with extensive experience in the design, implementation and supervision of projects in Latin America. Her experience covers both traditional and agile project management methodologies, with a comprehensive and strategic approach to planning and monitoring.

He is a Mechanical Engineer and holds a Master's Degree in Project Management, as well as certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP®), Scrum Master and SPI Agility Master Coach (SPI-AMC).

Throughout his career, he has successfully led initiatives in various sectors, such as humanitarian aid, community development and education. In addition to her work in social impact projects, she has contributed to organizational efficiency through the implementation of quality management systems.

Lisbeth is also an author, university professor and consultant. She wrote "How to be the manager of your life? 7 project management tools for everyday life", a book that incorporates project management principles into everyday decision making.

She has also contributed to the development of methodological guides for project management in the social sector, supporting organizations in improving their strategies and impact. As a lecturer in master's and certificate programs, she advises professionals and graduate students in project planning and execution.

Currently, she collaborates with the Social Projects Institute (SPI) and other international organizations, supporting the design and implementation of projects that drive sustainable development and social innovation. With a track record dedicated to strengthening project management practices, Lisbeth continues to empower organizations and professionals to achieve impactful results.

Ricardo Sánchez Orduña

Director of Learning

I am fascinated by guiding project professionals in the application of best practices to improve their environment and the quality of life of the people around them.

Ricardo holds a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a Master in Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM). He is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®), Certified Agile Practitioner (PMI-ACP®) by the Project Management Institute (PMI®), Scrum Master, SPI Agile Master Coach (SPI-AC) and PM4R Master Trainer.

With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Ricardo has been a professor at ITESM and has contributed to the project management diploma programs at Universidad Panamericana, Universidad Iberoamericana and ITAM. His teaching work extends internationally, with experience in Ecuador, Panama, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. He has also been a featured speaker at key events such as PMI Mexico Chapter conferences, PMTour and Agile Week Latin America.

Ricardo has taught PMP® and PMI-ACP® certification courses, as well as project management training, to more than 7000 professionals in Latin America and the Caribbean. His corporate clients include: Banco de Mexico, Siemens Mesoamerica, Danone, Telmex, Telcel, Novartis, Banamex, BBVA, Santander, Scotiabank, HSBC, Grupo Bimbo, Coca-Cola FEMSA, Coca-Cola Company Colombia and Mexico, MetLife, Sigma Alimentos, HP Panama, Panama Canal Authority, Petroecuador, Central Bank of Chile, Transbank Chile, among many others.

As a consultant and instructor for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ricardo has provided training in Venezuela, Panama, Honduras, Peru, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Uruguay and Paraguay. He contributed to the update of the PM4R Guide, co-authored the PM4R Agile methodology and developed its virtual course. He also participated in the IDB MOOC "Project Management for Results" as an expert in face-to-face sessions. Ricardo has facilitated PM4R Agile workshops in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as risk management workshops in Peru, Bolivia and Jamaica.

In addition, Ricardo is a consultant for the World Bank and training director of the Social Project Institute (SPI). He has served as President of the Cuernavaca Chapter of Enlace+ (ITESM) and is currently a member of the Board of the Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Mariko Russell has over 30 years of experience in international development, primarily in Latin America and the Caribbean. Throughout her career, she has held leadership positions in projects to improve the institutional strengths of organizations in developing countries. Through this background, her focus on the need to develop project management skills was consolidated.

Mariko holds a Master's degree in International Development Policy from Duke University and a Diploma in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Economies in Tokyo, Japan. She holds certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP®), Scrum Master and SPI Agility Master Coach (SPI-AMC).

Recently retired from the Inter-American Development Bank as Head of Operations for the Country Office in the Republic of Suriname, she understands that projects are people-centered. Her enthusiasm emanates from her desire to help others by sharing knowledge and experience.

She is also certified as a coach in the GROW model for improving individual performance, a model she has actively applied throughout her career. With over 30 years of experience in international development projects, Mariko continues to support project teams with her expertise.

Among her current projects, Mariko collaborates with the Social Project Institute as Director of Consulting. In this role, she works with a variety of clients, including governmental organizations in the United States and other international organizations, primarily in the Caribbean. Combining her project management skills and people skills, Mariko continues to contribute to strengthening the foundation for designing, planning, executing and closing projects with the best possible results.
